Typically dogs that have been abandoned do not have much training- that seems to be what happened here. I would make a decision- do you want to keep him and work on all of his problems, or do you want to find a better home for him? If you want to keep him you NEED to start seeing a professional trainer. It sounds like he might also need an escape-proof crate (very expensive) or doggy daycare (also expensive) until you can get the escaping and destroying under control. If you want to find a new home for him the ask if some no-kill rescues will list him on petfinder for you and help you find a home for him. Most likely they will not have room for them (they are always scrounging for foster homes) but they can help you find a GOOD home that is ready for him. Even though he is probably a mix, talk to some breed-specific rescues to see if they can help. There is nothing wrong with realizing that you cannot give this dog what he needs and finding a good home for him. In this case then the right thing to do is find a good home.

Does sobbing my eyes out count?
I think the only time that would bother me was when my hormones are going crazy, but I've been known to substitute something sweet, or even to make some chocolate milk (if I have the syrup). Otherwise I would go with cry...coping isn't an option when it comes to chocolate i am afraid.

Yes I have other things I can eat until I get more. I really can cope without chocolate even though it is good.

I don't think running out of chocolate would be too much of a big deal for me....I have been known to leave chocolate Easter eggs for months without eating them.

if it's for a substitute for cooking then there is no substitute but if it's a craving I remind myself that I break out only when I eat chocolcate and b/c I'm anal about my face I will refuse the chocolate b/c a weeks worth of red spots is not worth 1 minute of choco induldgence.

You can either subject yourself to the degrading spectacle of sucking the coating off your co co pops or get yourself down to the all night garage. When you need chocolate, there is no substitute.
