how many minutes or hours does it usually take to make love with someone? in some movies it seems they last about an hour, but in others it seem to last even longer, and in The 40 year old virgin the dude last just 2 minutes...
anyone has any ideas how long it should be??

There is no "should" here, it lasts as long as it lasts, usually limited physical endurance. I can tell you my wife and I average probably 30-45 minutes including whatever foreplay. When I was 18 I could literally go for hours, and I frequently did. It's not worth that much time IMHO, and my wife agrees. We're both happy, and sleep well afterwards.
If you want to go longer, go longer. If one of you can't go longer, don't. I know I've had my share of 10 minute quickies before jumping in the shower and going to work. Last I knew, it wasn't a competition.

My experience has been that it really depends on the person you are making love with and how important they feel it is to satisfy you. Two minutes would be rather fast, but the point of that in the movie was that he had waited so long and was so excited. However, there are some guys that are all about themselves and not you. The good news is that there are guys out there that really do want to please you so they work at it and learn to make it last longer.
The key to everything is communication. Let them know what you want and what works, and they need to let you know what works and what works TOO well. LOL!!!

One of the GREAT things about sex is that it is not "one-size-fits-all", you can do it for as long or as little as you both want. For hubby and me in the morning it's about 20 minutes, in the evening about 20, and at night maybe an hour or 45 minutes depending on how the day has been, but we have had sex literally all weekend - three days, and we have also had sex at a bus stop in 6 minutes and both had climaxes, so its all about the urge and how you want it.

Natalie is correct. It does depend on the people setting and timing. My wife and my quickies are about 20 minutes. However when we want to enjoy each other we will make it last a couple of hours. Sometimes we will do foreplay through out the day which includes little situations of naughtiness while we are out and about.
When we come home we will finish off our day of pleasure

there isnt a set time it depends on the person i think 2 mins wouldnt have time to get it out,women can take longer with men it can be a matter of minutes depending if there very young if they have premature ejaculation,some people can last an hour or more depends on their sex drive or how long ago they last had sex forgot to mention the foreplay that can
take hours that also depends on the man,some men dont bother with foreplay

I've been married a long time and the amouht of time my husband and I take can vary. For example, Tuesday nite we had a late dinner and went to bed at about 9:30 and made love for about 20 minutes. My husband got home early on Thursday and we had more time and we made love for about an hour. This afternoon, he got back from playing golf and I had my manicure and had done all my erands. I made lunch and one thing led to another and we wound up in bed and made love for more than 2 hours and then fell asleep for a short nap. The amount of time we take is a function of how much time we have. But the tremendous pleasure that my husband gives me is because I love him so much and I know that he loves me too.

I read an article that says intercourse on average lasts 15-25 minutes. I've been with guys that were quicker an much longer but the 15-25 is about right.

The groping and foreplay could last for hours, but the actual sex itself usually lasts more or less 10 minutes for the average person.

It depends on the male, some men can last a while and some of them cant. The same as some men can go again straight after having sex but some cant and need to wait.

Hmm - it depends what you consider making love!
The pre-foreplay should work you slowly in and girls we all KNOW we last longer than men - so they have a lot of work to do before the act itself - and after!
Although a good quick 5 minuter from beginning to end can be just as good!
