Lebron is cool. A True Yankee Fan. GO LEBRON!

I am a diehard Indians fan and I figure it this way - when Lebron was a kid, he had no idea he was going to be a superstar playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He picked his fave baseball team who happened to be the Spankees and years later he was drafted by the Cavs. He - like anyone else - has a right to be a fan of whatever team he feels like. Now if he was wearing a Knicks jersey or cap, then I think the entire city could wonder about his ethics and then I think the Cavs and all Cleveland fans would have a right to scream because that would appear just plain unethical. As long as he plays his heart out as a Cavalier and plays to bring a basketball championship to Cleveland, he can go for whatever baseball team he wants - regardless of if I like it or not. Here is something to consider - living in Cleveland and all these Cuyahoga County residents wearing Steelers stuff - I find that disturbing. What about Cuyahoga County residents who are Yankees fans? Do they want a parade in Cleveland or want to see one on TV in NY or Pittsburgh? Criticizing Lebron is stupid unless you are also going to criticize the countless morons who wear Steelers caps...etc. around the city. What is the difference?????

I understand him saying he was a lifelong yankees/derek jeter fan. That's all fine & dandy, but being the face of an orginazation (The Cavs) & the biggest athlete in a city (Cleveland) he has to know better then to show up at the ballpark wearing a Yankees cap.
There would have been no problem w/anyone if he wore no cap & showed to watch the game. He can root for the team he always liked, just dont wear their logo in your team's city. It makes you look disloyal to your fans who spend big money on your jerseys, shoes, etc...

I think LeBron just does what he wants to do and doesn't worry too much about what people think. A lot of Cleveland sports fans seem to think LeBron owes it to Cleveland to support the Cleveland teams. I think he's got a right to root for whatever team he wants.

If he likes the Yankees, he can show it.

Would anyone care if he played in NY and wore an Indians cap?

From a PR perspective, its a rather dumb move. I can't believe he didn't have some one in his inner circle telling him NOT to do this. Perhaps he sees a career in NY perhaps with the Knicks sometime in the future.

1st rule of thumb, you do not bite the hand that feeds you.
