Floating sideways is a sign of pneumonia, respiratory infections, or other lung issues.

It is tough to treat at home, but it starts with boosting water temps about 5 degrees, making sure things are clean, offering UVB lighting, and letting the turtle de-stress.

I cannot tell you why this happened after a tank cleaning- it might just be a coincidence, or a trace of the cleaning agent, or something else.

I CAN tell you that lopsided swimming is USUALLY a bad sign that may need a vets attention to treat successfully.

when you clean a turtle tank, never empty the water all of the way because they need a little bacteria in the water. also, if the water did not have time to warm up before you put the turtles in, it can affect them. make sure that the water is in between 76*F and 82*F before puting them in.

Floating sideways is a sign of RI(respiratory infection). It is probably caused by the shock your turtle had when you put it into the water. It can be caused by lackof water quality, basking etc. Contact me for further info

definite, you will desire to have a UV-B mild yet that's no longer your difficulty here. It feels like a respiration difficulty, which demands a visit to a qualified reptile vet. until you will get an appointment, advance the basking temperature a pair of levels over the traditional ninety°F.

Too clean too fast equals an environmental upset. Creatures need some culture in their water.
