...here's one that's totally fun, and probably totally unexpected; I'm talking about the 1969 puppet-animated horror parody, "Mad Monster Party". Produced by the folks over at the Rankin/Bass animation camp (...the folks who did the Xmas specials, like "Year Without a Santa Claus" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"), this one tells the tale of an aged Dr. Frankenstein, who is about to retire, and has just discovered the ultimate power of destruction; to celebrate his discovery, and his impending retirement, he puts together the wildest and zaniest party, to announce his successor. The guest list includes all the classic monsters, including Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Wolfman, Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Mummy, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the Invisible Man...and the Doctor's only living relative...a nerdy pharmacist named Felix, who is totally unaware of the macabre proceedings awaiting him, when he reaches the Doctor's island castle...

D. Young Frankenstein. It still makes me laugh every time I see it and I have seen it a gillion times. Maybe it's a generation thing, but, in my opinion, the others on the list are lame in comparison. They're not intended to be a spoof, but I also find portions of American Werewolf in London, Scream, and Final Destination I & II hilarious because they are just so "out there" (or maybe because now I have seen spoofs of them?)

D. "Bloodsucking Phaoros in Pittsburgh" It's the last movie that Tom Savini actually did SFX for (not as a consultant--the actual artist) and it's a hilarious spoof on buddy cop flicks and chainsaw slashers with an Egyptian curse to boot. It also lists the elusive "Alan Smithee" as its director--too bad to claim!

I have to say that for:
Zombies: Shaun of the Dead
Frankenstein: Young Frankenstein
Werewolf: I was a teenage werewolf (Michael J. Fox)
Vampire: Love at First Bite.

Even though it has some Dr. Frankenstein elements, its not really a spoof: The Man with the Screaming Brain. It has to be the weirdest comedy/horror movie I've ever seen. If you can rent it for a couple bucks its worth checking out, but I wouldn't buy it.

Young Frankenstein
I have never seen another one that was very funny or caught the right mood. Most are a mishmosh of parodies. They don't focus only on horror but mix in everything else at the box office.
By the way, I don't agree with any of those that you picked.
