Yes, that's a common misconception. Just like most things you probably hear about us.
The thing is, irony and sometimes sarcasm don't always translate well in writing.

Add on something ironic and test 'em. Otherwise they'll just say yes 'cos they don't want to feel left out. I reckon some of 'em do, some of 'em don't....er, bit like us, really......
