I have the same problem but on the male side. You have to be really well set to buy clothing off the shelf. I have to have mine altered to fit. I wear a 28 trouser and a 38 shirt. If I can get a 28 trouser the legs are too short and a 38 shirt fits my shoulders perfectly but because I do not have a large waist the superfluous material makes me look like a flag. I am not anorexic or anything like that...just built like a racing snake. It is more of a problem buying clothing if you are slim.

You live in a gluttonous society. We eat when we're not hungry, we don't exercise, and everybody gets to be a L in high school. When my son was making the transition between kid sizes and men's sizes, the big kids didn't fit, and the men's sizes seemed to start with M, which were way too big. Fortunately, he grew, and he's a L now. But he isn't done growing, so who know's what's next? My nephew wears size 14 boots and he's only 16.
Good luck.

No, but disgusting fast food is making people fat. Stores stock what sells. Stay small. :)
