I am currently attending a 4 year university to gain a B.S in diagnostic imaging (radiography). However the expenses, as expected are becoming very high. I was wondering if i were to switch to a 2 year school, it would effect my carreer. I know that i would need the BS to continue in my education however if i didn't plan on going any further, would i still make the same money as someone with a BS and would i still have just as good a chance at getting a job. Also if there are any other major differences that would be a lot of help. thanks!

You only need the BS if you plan to go into management. You don't even need an associate degree to be a rad tech. The only thing that an employer cares about is that you are ARRT-registered, and for that you must graduate from an accredited school, either with a bachelors degree, associate degree, or a certificate. Money is the same with or without a degree. A person with a degree is not a better tech than someone with a certificate. They only took some extra college classes that have nothing to do with their x-raying skills.

Good luck!
