Since my home town is in Portland, Oregon, it is near the
end of the Oregon Trail, from the great migrations coming
west from 1859, thru the end of that century. History abounds
in that general area. From across the river to the old Vancouver, Wash. barracks, once part of Oregon Territory,
to the official end of the trail in Oregon City, Oregon.
Portland is also home to the Parade of Roses, much like
the Pasadena Tournament of Roses in January. Portlands'
parade is in June of each year. It began during the turn of
the century. Portland is called, "The City of Roses" due to
the beautiful Portland Rose Gardens, and the roses grown
in the city in the yards of the majority of flower gardens. The
conditions for growing them are perfect, with the right amount
of sun and rain and sunshine. They thrive in that climate.

Well, I'm from Brussels, Belgium my favourite places there are the Atomium which was built in 1958 and of course the Grand Place which is a square place built with houses dating from around 15-1600 and later. This place had the nickname of the most beautiful parking of the world, but now parking is not allowed anymore and there is a daily flower market. Not far from there is Manneken Pis, the statue of a little boy making pipi. It is said that a little boy saved brussels from spanish invadors by making pipi on the lunt of a bomb that was placed in front of the doors of the town.

My hometown, where I no longer live, is famous, worldwide, for the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race.
The month of May in that town, is wild! All month long and on all sides of town.
Everything starts on May 1st. There are so many things to do, something for every age, all month long.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit at Race Time, be sure you're in good physical shape because you will find something to do every day. Time trials on the weekend, museums, zoo, social events, downtown area, the 500 Festival Parade, the race itself, just lots of things to do. And lots of really great food.

The place where I was born and raised is Brooklyn, New York. You can usually get a round of applause when you mention it on a TV show in front of a live audience.
For the past quarter century I've been living in a suburb of Las Vegas, Nevada. What's famous here? Take your pick!

My town has interesting history concerning the name. The area was settled by Mormons and there was a gentleman by the name of Wood. Brigham Young wanted the land that Wood owned, but Wood would not give it up. Brigham sent Wood on a mission and while Wood was away Brigham took possession of the land. When Wood returned he was cross! Hence the name Woods Cross. True story!

A Latino Singer by the name of Selena was killed in my home town. They renamed our auditorium after her. She was a beautiful person.
A little further south, the biggest Ranch in the USA is located in Kingsville, Texas. The King Ranch.
I guess that is about it.
Corpus Christi, Texas, a beautiful place to visit and to live. I don't live there anymore.
