but you commited a very similar crime at around the same time of the one you were jailed for, but you weren't even a suspect in that case?

No but one of my friends got arrested walking out of a bar. The police where right by the doors. I was his driver and he didn't even get a chance to say anything

Not me, but someone I know was.
It was the worst experience of my life as I knew they were totally innocent. If I could have done so, I would have ripped the bars of the person's cell away with my own bare hands I was so upset.
Fortunately, in the end justice prevailed - but one wonders about the emotional scars.
