I believe there are many factors added to the drug use that would turn someone's "normal behaviour" into a " bad" one.
Initially the question is, why the drug use a the first place?
There many option will come to light. It is often thought that drug users self medicate, not to say of course that they do in a positive outcome but the idea behind this is that there might be a probleme underlined somewhere that needs to be tackled.
Drugs including alcohol have various impact on the brains and consequently contribute to alter behaviour in people. So yes it is very possible that a dormant negative behaviour could be awakened by a drug of choice.
I hope this will help a little?

I used to take a medication for epilepsy called Keppra - and it adversely affected my temperament in no time at all. So based on my own experience, it could be that drugs are to blame. The link below explains this in better detail.

Yes. This is the exact reason I HATE drugs. I know a guy like that. We used to be good friends. Looking at him now its like wow, what the hell happened. I hate it so much. Please dont do that if you are talking about yourself because you are not only hurting yourself you are hurting someone else too ( as in someone that cares about you a lot)

Yes definitely,
Drugs effect everyone differently but these sounds like side effects of drug abuse for sure. Paranoia is a knock-on effect of most drugs
