at a cocktail party I called someone ducieferious and everyone just nodded and agreed. Was that wrong? I mean who am I to make up words? Furthermore, if it takes off can I trademark it and finally pay the water bill?

The problem with making the first exposure at a cocktail party is that no one will remember where they heard it only that they did. Before you know it your word will be on the lips of absolute strangers. It'll even be on T.V.

Remember "couch potato" ?

write a book [you'll have to edit yourself] Call it cucumber paradise. =)

I think that this is funny, I mean really. These people probably felt stupid you using what seems to be big intelectual words. Hell, when they got home they probably couldn't remember the word, or even how to spell it to check it out! lol!!! I think this is intelligent, and you simply are making conversation, well... interesting! I would look into claiming this as a new word to add to the dictionary, with of course your definition. Good luck to you!

I Paris can Trademark "Its Hot" you can certainly trademark Ducieferious. See if you can get Oprah to use the word on her show as the hot new word of the year. That will help to boost your royalty payments

Here's what I think. You wanted to send me a shizzalicious word to knock my socks off...and when you looked up 'dulcieferious' to find the correct spelling it was nowhere to be found. Having given yourself quite the chuckle and wondering what on earth ever made this ideograph pop into your head, you found a clever question to post it in to prove your sheer genious for making up words....for this I applaud you. I would reward you for your genius in other ways but you're too far away....so here's a star you lubricious shizzalicious whimsically winsome thang you!

Okay but do you wonder if they just nodded and agreed to be polite and were silently thinking to themselves that you have no idea what you were talking about and just didn't want to embarass you by asking you to define the word? Not trying to be rude just wondering?

Well done you, yes I think you should trademark these newly formed words of yours and please, for goodness sake do something more fun and aristeferious than paying the water bill!

Nah, If I tried that it would turn out to be some rare seldom used word and somebody else would point out that I was using it in the wrong context.
