I've just been appointed dean of... Communications.
Thanks for the promotion to Dean. Is THIS what the dean of communications does? Answer Yahoos!??
I actually have been a teaching assistant in the Communications Department of the University of Windsor, and also manager to the college's radio broadcast station CJAM-FM, before going to work in the newspaper industry for thirty years.
Communication is at the heart of our new post-industrial "Service Revolution" and Entertainment industry!
God is love. They say "love makes the world go around". Look at the Middle East and say that!!! Communication, not love, makes this world go around!!! It is the foundation of our civilization.
We are losing our high-paying manufacturing jobs to cheaper foreign work-forces, and growing our service and communications industries to absorb those job losses in the western world today.
I love communication! I'm communicating this minute, obviously. Babies communicate by crying, and leave a message carved in stone when they die.
I do love to communicate ... more than I love editing down the length of my answers ... obviously ;-)
My mom nicknamed me "the professor"; but I felt unworthy. I thought my kid bro Al was smarter.
My younger brother Al, who died of cancer this summer (after a 15 year "battle"), was a teaching assistant at the U of W in the Computer Science department, before going to work for Boston Edison in the USA, and our Canadian federal government in Ottawa. He was the 'science guy" in our family. R.I.P Al.
