He got a little bad press for Republicans, so now he wants to maybe compromise. Considering he doesn't know what the word means, I wouldn't hold my breath. His version of a compromise is "You do what I want and we'll both be happy".

The President vetoed a badly written law.

What he is saying is that he will sign a bill that actually does what it is supposed to do.

Why did the Democrats deliberately sabotage the bill by including provisions that the President has stated he would veto? When are you going to start holding them accountable for putting their quest for political power ahead of running the nation?

He's been against the CHIPs program since the beginning about 8 years ago when he was governor of Texas. If he's saying he's for it now, it's just to deal with all the bad publicity from his veto, which is unfortunate, since the bill they passed is totally screwed up and shouldn't have been signed.
