I want to learn to roller skate.....for the first time.....at age 46.

I've been watching my eight-year-old daughter at her skating lessons, and it looks like so much fun!

Go for it girl, but get 4 wheels roller boots, they're easier and better fun anyway....give me a shout when you're ready and we'll go skating in the park, before you know it we'll both have thighs like an olympic hurdler!! ;)

Sure! Sounds like fun.

If you aren't already agile, I'd make sure to stretch well before putting the skates on so that you don't pull a muscle or something when you fall.

I learned to surf, ski, and skate at 35 after my divorce.
I'd say go for it. You'll find the experience exhilarating, both the skating and having learned to.

Um you can if you want, but it might be kind of embarrasing for your daughter, no offense. But the positive side is that if you do learn how to skate, then you and your daughter can become closer.

No, of course not!!! Skating is fun. Just be prepared for a sore behind and some odd glances your way.

it's really easy! you can stand on the skates and just push off gently with each foot, and you will be skating! wear padding at first because it's likely you'll fall :)

I don't see why not make sure you get the proper pads a helmet etc. You'll need them. and no, I don't think its a bad idea. You'll get a total body workout from just a half hour a day so, if you want to, go for it!

It is NEVER a bad idea to get exercise and do something fun with your child. I'm 36 & think I would make sure to wear shin & elbows pads until you get sure of yourself.

Good luck and have fun!

Thats awesome! I think you should totally go for it. Just wear lots of protective pads and a helmet. (Don't want to hurt yourself). Its helpful to start by holding on to something, then eventually you'll be a natural! Good Luck!!
