If you remove the ignition switch, the key will still stuck in it.

Return the switch to the "off" position and try to extract the key.

You may not have to remove the switch
if you can get a hold of a pick set (sharp pointed tool http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=9227&group_ID=1067&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog ) you may be able to remove it that way by picking it out.
Or take the car to an ASE Cirtified Technision so you do not ruin the ignition which can be very spendy to replace

you will need a steering wheel compressor . if you have never done it before i suggest that you go to your local napa auto parts store or http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLWelcome.aspx and get yourself a Chilton's repair manual for your car that will tell you step by step how to do it and what tools you will need
