Help Please!?

So I have a Chocolate Verizon phone, and I have the Micro SD chip that can hold all my music and stuff. My laptop is not letting me add music onto it because it says that the SD is not formatted and when I click "Format" then it says that it is not able to be formatted. So I need to know if there is any other way that I can format it????

Make sure that the SD card is not Write protected.
