Hi all! i need help with my laptop. i used to be able to Download stuff on my laptop all through the night because of the sleep key function.

everytime i pressed the fn+f5 my lcd would turn off and my audio icon would turn red signifying that its also off or on mute(its blue if its on).
when i move my mouse(or press anything) everything would turn back on my download still progressing even though i went to sleep mode.

now just recently every time i press fn+f5 my laptop would go to sleep mode as usual but this time eveything turns off. which includes my mouse, my touch thing on the laptop that also serves as a mouse, the red light that use to signify that my audio is on mute, and most importantly my wi-fi shuts off.
and my download stops completely when my computer turns back on.

keep in mind its not hibernating, its still in sleep. how can i change this?

extra info:
OS: Vista 32
Laptop: HP

anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. i promise 5 stars if it works. ^^

Im not really familiar with vista yet but its probably the same as xp. right click on your desktop go to properties, select the power options button and change your sleep settings.

Open Display Properties and click on the Power options. Turn off everything you don't need and save the new settings.

TIP: Turn off Sleep mode and Hibernate.

Try right clicking on your desktop, select properties, go to screen saver, click the power button on the bottom, and check to see if there are any settings in there to fix your problem!
