My son eats now in between 4 1/2oz - 5oz ( both breastmilk and a bit of formula) which i had to move up from 4oz cause he seemed still hungry after havng 4oz. Does this sound ok? Just wondering it just seems to be a lot but he seem satisfied. maybe in another growth spurt?

Thanks!

is he 6 weeks old now? or was he 6 weeks early? what is his corrected age?
Is he gaining weight? Babies will increase feeds as they get bigger. I think you are doing the right thing. We can in noway decdie whether or not someone else is hungry, the baby has noway of knowing that he just took 4 oz, so yeah if he's hungry feed him!!

wow he has done well what a big guy!! if he is hungry than by all means do so. He is/could be probably going thru a growing spurt, he is 6 weeks old techincally which is prime time for a spurt 2,4,6, weeks , 3,6,9, months usually when you see babes going through that spurt. As long as he seems well I wouldn't worry.

I do not advise feeding him infant cereal in his bottle, especially if he was a preemie. babies do not have the flora in their guts like and older baby does, thsi is why babies who start solids often get really gassy and constpated,.

i just had a son 6 weeks ago but i also have a 3 yr. old. it is perfectly normmal fo ra child of this age to eat that much. i have found tha tif you mix a lil bit of plain baby cereal in with the formula, it satisfies them alot better and they do not always feel the need to gorge! mix just one teaspoon in with a 4 ounce bottle. make sure you buy a cereal nipple, or just cut the hole in the formula nipple a bit bigger so the cereal can pass. congrats and good luck!

My son was drinking about 4 oz about this age and he was almost 3 months early. Babies do not overeat. When they are done they will turn their head away.
