i know a pap smear is required for the birth control pill, but is it also required for the depo shot?

yes - for the first one that year, but not for each shot which you get every 3 months.

Yes but I strongly suggest researching the depo shot. I took it for several years and now have PCOS. There is a known link between depo provera and PCOS. Please do some research. I honeslty believe this drug should be taken off the market

Since the depo shot is birth control, the answer is YES.
But, I'd really rethink getting this poison. TOO many women have horrible health issues because of this shot.
