I would have to say ... Denmark or Germany. Something from my hertiage, I THINK it would be easier to relate that way and have some added personal connection to the child.

As a BSE adoptee who was raised by two loving, wonderful people, I hate to admit that adoption has gotten as ugly as this--but it has. You don't have to spend ten minutes on the internet before you find out that some people simply want what they want when they want it, and as cheaply and quickly as possible, even when "it" is somone else's child. For instance, I can't imagine how heartless a person would have to be to complain in 2008 about not being able to get a child from Guatemala. Do they not care that some of these infants were actually kidnaped, or do they think that not doing their research will somehow keep them innocent of the crime that "completed" their family? Do they think their child won't find out he or she was stolen and have pyschological problems with that later? There are right ways and wrong ways to adopt. The fact that you want a child very much is no excuse to do it the wrong way.

Great question! I wish people would open their hearts to children here as well as the many children from other countries in need. So after adopting children here, I'd want to adopt children from Romania. There is a huge need from that country. When the dictator, Nicolae Ceauşescu, was in power, he encouraged the entire country to have lots of babies so they could be a huge and strong nation. But then the dictator and his wife were shot by firing squad by the new government for the many atrocities they did, and that left the country in turmoil which left tons of orphans since people could no longer feed and take care of them. The orphan situation is truly appaling and the conditions these kids live in is horrendous even all these years later. Those kids need help. I would adopt all that I could if possible... (I get passionate about abuse to kids!)

Japan. Hands down.
And I would go totally old-tradition with the raising of the child.
Old Japanese tradition is a rare and beautiful thing that is not as honored with the youth in Japan as it should be.
Japanese traditions are some of the best on Earth and it should be celebrated and USED! Not just seen every once in a while.
All you in Japan! Hug your grandma and learn from her!!!!
