ok i might race one of this days but i dont know if i could win can some one tell me what car is better a honda civic V4 vtec or a pontiac gt V6?

I know that the 2006 Pontiac G6 GT has a 3.5Liter V6 engine that puts out 201hp and a curb weight of 3,415lbs.
The 2006 Honda Civic Si has 197hp with a 6 speed manual tranny, and a curb weight of 2,877lbs. Honda claims it can go 0-60mph in 6.7 seconds.
So I am guessing that the Honda Civic Si might win in a short race just slightly, but that the G6 would take over at higher speeds.
But any other Honda Civic besides the Si model would not stand a chance against the G6 GT, especially the new ones which have even more than the 201hp that the 06 model has.

Both stock, equal transmission choices, with the "normal" equipment? I'd put my money on the Pontiac GT V6 every time. Good luck!

Your Civic will get the first 200 feet, but the Pontiac will leave you in the dust after about 900 feet.

If YOU are going to race one day, YOU should do the research on the question so YOU will learn how to find the answers. I made sure that all my children, (girls included) did some kind of repair on their own cars. Now, when they go to some of these ripoff shops and they try ti rip them off, they are shocked to find out they usually know more than the shop does. My wife and oldest daughter changed out an alternator while waiting to pick me up at work one night. That surprised me. I am a proud man.
