Hi,
Never trust a stranger. Not just nowadays but the same threat existed in the past as well, it just wasn't so widely publicised. Of course ALL men aren't sexual predators but it would be foolish to be trusting of people you don't know.
Having said that I was abused by someone in my family when I was younger so even those we are 'supposed' to trust can let you down. Has the male identity been hijacked by sexual predators? I don't think so. We all know there are decent folk out there but there are some who aren't so decent. That's why we always have to be careful.

I agree that men are very much more inclined to be sexual predators than women. It's just our nature. I don't think you should fear all men though. Just be aware of where your kids are at all times and teach them to be streetwise like my momma did.
My old landlord was actually a sexual predator when I was a kid. He in fact molested a girl I knew in the neighbourhood and tried to lure a friend of mine by saying he had a skateboard in his garage for him. The kid was smart though and brought his mom along. Then the landlord denied ever offering a skateboard.
I'm not sure if there is an increase in sexual predators though. I think it may be related to the media coverage it gets these days. I know that in some countries they never report these things for reasons I'm not so sure of.

hmm, could the increase in sexual predators have anything to do with the increase in sexual media?
sexual media is everywhere. It can cause people who would have had no intention on doing anything be overcome by ideas that would not have developed without the help from a source.
they continue to develop until, the person can either not take it anymore and does somthing horrific, or somebody comes along that would have come along and solved the smaller problem not created by the media, and detests the monster the media has created.
Should all men be feared?
slightly. its safe to have a small fear, a caution, because men... are men.

I guess the answer is yes! All women should be too! As I like to say "its either ALL or nothing" . Lets be honest with ourselves here. I mean people seem to always want to have somebody else to point the finger at, and say "hes bad, hes EVIL, hes a miscreant, a criminal, a predator" The whole time we are desperately trying to ignore the propensity for good and bad within our own selves! Im a firm believer in Human nature. If a people repeatedly exhibit certaint behavioral traits throughout centuries of evolution, than I am left with no other choice thean to assume that this is part of human nature, that said.. whom is entirely exempt?

"I think as someone capable to commit any crime" Goehte said....but not all men are sexual predators, or killers. The act of killing is as old as mankind, and sexual assaults were started to be performed in ancient wars. In this modern times we are living exists moral deterioration and crime is an statistic that is scalating all the way to the clouds as world population is increasing. Most of all sexual predation, crimes against children an women are no different from other types of crime and yes they are specially associated to men. But not all men assassins nor sexual predators or child molesters.

No that's ridiculous. And I think it's terrible that all men should be branded as potential rapists - it's putting men off doing valuable work such as teaching, because they're scared that they will be unfairly accused.
I think we should give up this sick obsession - teachers are now scared to even comfort a hurt or crying child for fear they will seen as behaving in an inappropriate manner.

Having been abused by two different females as a young child I can tell you that women are just as capable of doing these things as men. I spent several years in a self help group for adults molested as children. To be sure the majority of the offenders were male but women were a lot closer second than you would think by the publicity this subject gets. Young boys seldom tell anyone when women molest them because they are confused and see women as caregivers and as being protective of children.
I was in my thirties before I realized that what had happened to me was wrong.

Generalization of any Race,Creed or Sex is just WRONG.

Experts say that 1 in 4 men have fantasies about young girls but it doesn't mean they're gonna go out and do stuff with kids. It all depends on the person. A guy who wants to have sex with a 15 year old is not the same as someone who hurts little kids.

You should not fear all men and treat them as sexual predators. It's understandable that you want to take care of your kids and keep them safe and that's good. All men aren't rapists. Just remember that you need to keep an eye on anyone who comes near your kids. You have every right to protect your kids.
