Either that or the person got a big vacuum upstairs where his or her brain is located and I may have struck a chord with this person but it could easily be turned into discord if it is kept up unjustifiably.

Yes. Sometimes the truth hurts...thus a thumbs down. Or the person wants to try to get the 10 points and thinks the question asker may be fooled by a thumbs down.

No. I pay them no mind. I have noticed some give thumbs down to every one ahead of them. No matter if the answer is good or bad. I look at them as being envious. And ignore them.

I only thumb down when someone is obviously being rude or just have no idea what they are talking about, (talking out their @$$) if you know what I mean.

I guess it does, since that person might be jealous that you gave a better answer than them or they honestly don't think your answer is that good.
