Tennis is not only a very physical game, but it is a mental game. There is a lot of strategy that goes into the game. It takes a lot of skill in order to make certain shots and a lot of strength and stamina to maintain a high level of play. You have to be able to move quickly to get to certain shots, hand and eye coordination in order to even set yourself up to hit the ball. There are no coaches on the court with you, no half times for inspirational talks to pump you up...it's just you, your racquet a little yellow ball and your opponet. The discipline and courage that it takes to step out onto a court all by yourself and play the game is something that can carry over into every day life. Taking matters into your own hands and pushing yourself for what you want. That is why tennis is such a good sport to play.

In my opinion, basketball is a much easier sport to get used to. In the long run you have to work hard at both if you want to become good. I started playing tennis at age 9 and I had an extremely hard time getting used to it. After ten years I'm reasonably good at the sport. I started playing basketball 5 months ago and I wouldn't say i'm really good but i've developed the basic ball handling and shooting skills needed for recreational play. Face it, how many times have you seen people play tennis for the first time and struggle to make contact with the ball. However, with a sport like badminton it's not that hard to hit the birdie for the first time. Ultimately it comes down to personal opinion and preference. I suggest that you play both the sports and enjoy them for life maybe even join a league. Good Luck!

Tennis requires physical and mental aspects. You get a great workout in every part of your body and you burn a lot of calories. It also makes you think about where you want to place the ball and requires strategy. Also, you can play it your entire life! Unlike other sports that you have to stop playing when your bones weaken. Overall... it is a great sport that anyone can enjoy! :]
