I would like to know if anybody out there know of any colleges which offer a home study access course to Higher education if you do please let me know

Definately the open university, I am studying with them now.
www.open.ac.uk is the website so you can have a look at some of their courses.
You can do your whole degree with them, you do not need to do an access course or A levels to start your degree, or if you do want to go to university, then a 60 point level one course with the OU is much better than an access course.
If you are claiming tax credits, or are earning under the threshold you may be able to get this for free. If not, then the cost is fairly reasonable and you can open an OUSA account to pay in installments.

Open University worked for me. You can find information at your local library or try Google.
I gained a degree; you can take as much time as you like.
The only problem may be that you should attend a week of intensive "summer school" on a lot of courses. This will be held at various universities, you can choose the nearest.
I loved my time studying and hope this info will help you.
