I'm trying to get a ballpark figure on wiring a 2000 square foot house with a 200 amp service. Is there an outline that I can follow somewhere? Any advice or pricing guidelines I can go by?

Call 3 local electrical contractors and ask for a price. Prices for this work vary widely from place to place and home to home. The last one we did like you are describing was $4500. complete for the service and wiring. The power company charged another $1500 for the underground service wires and connection.
