The best college in Texas, statistically, is Rice University. It is highest on the US News and World Report rankings. In Austin, Texas, I believe it would The University of Texas in Austin, which is also the second highest ranked school in Texas. Another good school to look at is Texas A & M University.

University of Texas in Austin is the second best -- and is in Austin.
