It's just a TV show, but if you really want to look into it, I've heard many reasons.
For one thing, he doesn't have a dad. If you saw the episode Cartman's Mom Is A Dirty Slut, you know this bothers him. Perhaps, in need of a male role model, he looks up to Hitler? As evil as the man may have been, he was a genius, and manipulated plenty of people with ease.
Plus, he likes attention. He's made this fairly obvious throughout the entire season. Kyle, who is one of his best friends (no matter how much he denies this), is a Jew. Pretending to hate Jews, therefore, would get him much more attention than doing the same to hippies.
I agree with both of these.

Well, the chracater was made that way. He has said that he hates Jews because his idol, Adolf Hitler, also hated them. He also has said that the Jews killed Jesus and he hates them for that. Why he hates hippies, I don't know. It's Cartman.

Because he's a cartoon character and the creators of South Park use that particular one to make fun of those people in the real world who carry such prejudices. As in real life..there is no actual point to it.

He doesn't hate the Jews, he just patronizes them.

Because he's Cartman, and that's what he does. He's not a subject to be analyzed. Kyle accepts him as a friend.

cartman is a reflection of a real personality in our society, and a lampoon of it. he is basically a tool and says things like that to be different and abrasive. he probably thinks that no one else thinks stuff like that even though he gives references like Mel Gibson.
i think its funny stuff but cartman is not my favorite char.

Race prejudice is very hard to understand for a child that young,therefore I think his mother may have influenced his thinking in that area. She is a very STRANGE woman.

I agree with DA Boss but really I'm not sure if it was ever written into his character why he hates the "Joos".

omg i love south park!! lol, but uhh. im not sure lol, i think hes just jelouse of kyle :] but he hates kenny the most out of all of them did you know that? lol, haha
