Macafee quarantined a whole list of important .exe files, froze, and now I cannot log in to windows. I tried safe mode and all other options in that list, F8 on startup, is there any way I can get in to undo what happend?

I don't think McAfee quarantined your important system files, you should have been asked what to do? You quarantined the files. The only thing I can think of without reinstalling is to boot into safemode with command prompt (if you can). Insert your windows CD (if you have one) and type the command sfc /scannow (with the space) this will scan for missing or corrupt system files and replace them.

Why Don't you restore the files ,Basically I think McAfee is Doing its Job, Try to reinstall the OS, or chat with an agent online through your friends computer

When your Antivirus alerts you of an infection.. the last thing you want to do is quarantine..

Always attempt to clean the files first. If you didn't try cleaning them you could attempt to restore then and do a clean.. but you may need to just reinstall windows... you may not need to format... you can try a repair, then try an install without formatting...

Good Luck!

Read your EULA, agreement with Mcafee, if you purchased the software, and perhaps you can be compansated for the mess they made.

Sounds like you are going to have to reinstall your entire system.
