I have always wondered this. I prefer to shave anyway, but I feel kinda weird about being bald during pregnancy appointments and labor. I probably don't be able to when I am 8/9 months anyway, but what about until then?

thats funny, I also wondered the same thing though so I dont think your too weird! Im now in health care and let me tell you, not a one person cares. everyone comes in different and nothing is suprising to us. do what you want to to be comfortable with yourself, thats what matters.

It's okay to shave down there for appointments and labor. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, but if it's something you naturally do, there's nothing to be worried about. If anything, the doctors don't stand there and oogle your goods. They just do what they have to do only. I'm sure it's nothing they haven't seen before. You have to keep in mind that that's what they do for a living. Some of them have probably seen just about all kinds of vaginas by now.

Just do as you normally would. The doctor has seen much stranger things than a shaved vaginal area. I can assure you. Just make sure you are clean and neatly trimmed for your appointmants. Most doctors will have you shaved just before delivery anyway because it will be more sanitary. So if you shave ,keep on. And have your partner do it for you if you get where you can not later on in pregnancy. It could lead to some serious foreplay! And that is always a good thing!

I did even when i was in labor just before i went to the hospital I shaved......LoL it's not going to hurt anything and if your usually well kept down there might as well keep it up. It made me more comfortable when a group of interns asked to watch my delivery knowing that I wasn't all hairy.

I didn't shave down there when I gave birth. The birth was too fast. I wouldn't have had time to do it. That is up to you and your decision if you want to shave down there for your appointments and around the time of your labor...

eh don't be like me and try to shape up your bush and accidentally screw up and have it all patchy (lol, I'm 38 weeks so I was def blind shaving) then I ended up just shaving it all off (bc it looked terrible) and now I'm bald eagle for the first time which is really uncomfortable (esp when it's growing back, it itches..) and quite embarrassing..I just hope it grows back a lil before I go into labor..lol.

I don't think the doctors or nurses will care though they seen just about everything..good luck!

sorry for the TMI..haha

Whatever feels comfortable for you. I personally wouldn't want to attempt shaving in the last few months of pregnancy. I also don't like looking like I'm 13. But either way, it is whatever is comfortable for you! Good luck!

i shave for my doctors appointments. my doctor only looked down there for the first appointment though. I'm 31 weeks now and its been really hard to shave. i still try to keep it trimmed up though. the doctors see all different kinds of vagina's from bald to freakishly hairy. just do whatever feels comfortable to you.

i do plan on shaving or at least trimming it up for the deliver though. i heard if your too hairy they'll have to shave for you before you deliver. that's just too embarrassing for me lol.

Unless your Doctor is weird, he/she won't care one way or another. Sure, many moons ago, shaving down their might have raised an eyebrow or two, but nowadays, it's more common than you think.

Some hospitals shave their patients.

It's really up to you, but if you want control over who shaves you, then shave yourself.
