The #6 bus travels from South Station to Haymarket Station through the North End. It's also possible to walk from Haymarket to the North End. There are two exits from Haymarket Station to the surface streets. From either, go south (towards Fanueil Hall). Turn left on Hanover Street (which, depending on where you exited will be 1/2 or 1 block away). As soon as you cross the area above the central artery (1 block), you're in the North End. And tomorrow (Oct 6) the Columbus Day Parade will be there, too.
