A friend of mine was arrested out of state last week for DUI. While she was being transported, the cop slammed backward into another police car. She said the two cops thought it was the funniest thing they ever saw. She's complained of headaches several times since, but didn't think of the connection. She's facing serious fines in the case and it doesn't seem right for the cop to not be held accountable for his moronic accident. Should she see someone about personal injury?

She has said nothing of pursuing the personal injury. I just think it would be justified, and maybe help her case too.

Marie, you seem confident she would win. Why?

It seems to me if he thought he was gonna be held accountable, he wouldn't have thought it so funny.

By the way, do you really think he's gonna tell on himself if she doesn't mention it?

The over- reacting to people having a drink, and then driving, has gone far enough now.If you want to stop it,block all parking near and around bars, taverns, and restaurants where they sell alcohol. Lets return to practicallity and what is the real danger on our highways, inept driving skills, fatigue, exess speed ( from hurry, immature lack of patience) and distraction. The poor working man on the way home, drank two beers and some hot shot cop followed him, and got an easy collar, yet probably did nothing to the low income guy he caught, knowing full well that many of that kind would wind up costing the state money all the way around, only the blue collar and white collar workers can manage to pay up, and suffer through the system, the others just take it for a ride, as they live better in institutions than they do at home, and can continue to satisfy their vice and drug habituation.

i've got in no way seen a DUI itself forestall somebody from being a cop. The historical past investigators will in all probability get a replica of the checklist. How he dealt with himself is greater substantial. If he became impolite and argumentative, he has little or no probability of having employed. the subject is, this became these days. The historical past investigators do no longer assume every person to be appropriate, however the greater time that is going via, the fewer they hassle on the subject of the surely offense. I artwork on a branch of 24 human beings. 2 of them had DUI's and one had a disordery habit arrest. they are all great officers.

These are two seperate incidents. The accident will not help her DUI case. She should file a claim for the accident though.

Not held accountable? I can tell you, at any police department in this country, if you are in a wreck with a patrol car and you are at fault, you are in trouble. A few unpaid days off and retraining at the minimum here

She could and would win. Should she? Well that would be a morality tail. If she is just going to do it for the money to make up for the tickets, that is another story.

If it happens as she said it did, there will be a report because of the damage to the vehicles. She can talk to an attorney and see what happens from there.
