Good decision in setting up a brokerage account.
Your trading style depends on the type of account you would want -- personal stock advisor or online account.
Hope U have been following the stocks and comfortable w/ doing the technical / fundamental analysis of stocks in any given sector.
Like others have suggested, its a good idea to set up a link to your bank so that funds can be transferred fast.
Good luck with your investing!

To add to hottotrot1_usa's good answer,
Make sure you have the account opened first, and are given an account number. If you need to trade that day, you may need to wire the funds into the account, a lot of firms will not let you make the 1st trade until there are cleared funds in the account,

You have to complete an application.

On the suggestion of others, I registered as a "speculator" with a margin account and with the approval to trade options.

This gave me more freedom to do more and varied trading. .

THEN you fund that account with your money. After approval, THEN you can begin trading.

Lots of luck!
