Okay, I am far from a Liverpool fan, and to be honest am not to bothered whether they win another league title or not, their grip was broken in the late eighties and early nineties by Arsenal, and that was a good thing, most of the titles they won were at a time when the bigger clubs were either skint, had poor managers, or were in some kind of crisis, look at the runners up they had, Watford, Southampton, hardly the biggest of threats to a monopoly.

That said, I would very much like a more British look to the management of the top clubs, the last English manager to win the league was, I believe, Howard Wilkinson at Leeds in 1992.

Liverpool seem to have lost there way since following Arsenal down the foreign manager root, they may be better off appointing a British manager, and certainly someone with more of a feel for the Club.

As for who, no one had heard of Arsene Wenger, so not having your name widely known is not an issue, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish had never managed a club before, so I think we get too hung up on personality managers and cult figures.

If I was a Liverpool fan, I would want to go back to the 'Boot Room' and look to see who has connections to build up such a thing again.

John Aldridge and Ian Rush spring to mind, but the Liverpool fans may know better names to put in the frame.

2 right No point in having talented players and leaving them on the bench, There will be more great players on the bench after the international match break eg Torres Remember Gerrard played 4 England despite Benitez's concern He was dropped for the next matches as punishment it seems He wants players 2 put club b4 country Why drop a player that is playing well It's ludicrous

BIG SAM ALLARDYCE IS RIGHT ALL ALONG. HAD BENITEZ BEEN MANAGING ANOTHER TEAM, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SACKED BY NOW DUE TO HIS POOR DOMESTIC LEAGUE RECORD.
