I've no idea... I've got a guitar and I STILL don't know why this happens... so you get a star.

I tend to get more attention from women once they realize I write and do artwork. I want to learn to play the guitar, but even though I have a basic accoustic six-string, I haven't the slightest idea how to play it.
I think women thrive on guys who are cocky like a rooster, but in a good way, and if they are artistic that's all the more reason to make the knees go weak. I think guitarists are highlighted because they look a lot less dorky than keyboardists, and though drummers can be seen as "sexy" because of their muscular torsos and such, they aren't at the front of the stage.
The wandering minstrel of English woods of the 1500s is today's rock guitarist. Times haven't changed, just the technology level and style. Then, as now, guys just want to get laid. What better way of doing that than by being a guitar hero? just ask Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS.

I don't know my boyfriend plays the guitar but I never thought of it before like that.

Because it's sexy. He can always make up a song about you and play it, that's really romantic. I really like Drake Bell, he's cute and he's great at singing and playing the guitar. He can play a song for me any day.
