Solar system made out of a pebble? No one says that. The solar system was made out of an enormous aggregate of gas, dust, ice, and rocks.

If you were referring to the big bang, that was perhaps 9 or 10 billion years before the solar system. As for first causes, these kinds of deterministic notions cannot be applied to things at the limits of the Universe and quantum events. I know it sounds like a cop-out, but trying to say what caused the Universe is almost as difficult as trying to say what caused God.

And once again, evolution is not the subject you are asking about, unless you are talking about stellar or cosmic evolution. No doubt you are referring to biological evolution, which fundies can't accept because it contradicts the bible. That is a question which has nothing to do with abiogenesis or the big bang.

Aristotle's First Cause (also called the Etiological Argument) is not well supported and not very convincing.

Assuming that is your intention is to prove that a god created the universe, there is a problem: What causes a god? How do you prove that a god is the First Cause?

Now, I think people answering should lay off the "pebble" reference. It is a minor point and probably just a misstatement.

Also, evolution is closely tied to the origin of the universe. If the universe began differently, or was somehow organized or structured differently, life would have evolved differently. Anyway, the origin of the universe is part of the evolution vs. creation debate (sadly, there is still a debate), so what is the problem?

So, if you are going to reply, show some intelligence and write something better than, "You are a freakin' idiot! A pebble? Evolution is biology, not cosmology!"

First, evolutionists are biologists, not cosmologists or astronomers.

This is the first most of us have ever heard of the "pebble" hypothesis. Care to offer a reference? For a more mainstream concept, google "solar nebula theory".

If by "first causes" you mean the origin of the universe, that's covered in part by the Big Bang theory, but yes, there are still lots of mysteries, and no way of seeing past Planck time. Solar system formation is a long way downstream from that, so I don't see what you think the connection is.

No body knows the 1st causes, it is still a cosmological mystery. However, if you look at the images of the Universe captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, or even looking trough a small telescope, you will start to understand the Universe a little. Check it out, and you will see what scientists are talking about. After seeing, then you are free to believe in whatever you want. But first look.

1) What? Please tell me where it says that evolutionary biologists (or even planetary geologists) stated that the solar system came from a pebble. You can't? Then why did you ask this question?

2) Which first causes would those be?

3) This isn't even a question, actually. Did you have a point to make besides your obvious ignorance of basic science?

That damn pebble. I told that pebble not to go of by itself. Maybe you should read some real science. Evolution has really nothing to do with the origin of the Universe. Totally different subjects.

I have to start looking for a new pebble. Maybe I can start a parallel Universe. :) :) :)

Evolution and the origin of the solar system are two completely different things

And who said it was made out of a pebble? I have no idea where you got that one

Where did this 'pebble' come from? (Never heard that before). Where did the stuff for the 'BIG BANG' come from?

ok, creationist say that an all powerful being that can do anything he thinks and was just always there, never came from anything at all, created everything in 7 days. and the big bang seems like non sense to you? wow
