I worked in a fast food restaurant for a year and a half. I believe the things they say. We would sometimes go a week or two without cleaning the bathrooms. People would sneak fries to eat from the fry station. Never saw anybody spit in the food though.

I once had a boyfriend who worked in a national fast food chain. He took an order for a steak which was returned because it was "too done." The cook got mad and threw the plate, steak and all, against a wall. A few minutes later an order was placed for a well done steak and the cook picked this one up off the floor and make sure all the shards of glass were brushed off of it, put it on a clean plate and served it to the unsuspecting customer! I try not to think about this story when I eat out ANYWHERE, much less a fast food restaurant. Terrible, huh?

The strange thing is that, at least here in Canada, it depends where the fast food outlet is. In stand alone outlets there are no recycling bins I've seen, there are takeout and drive-thru and a number of eat in customers. In a mall with a food court with the very same fast food outlets there are recycling bins. I'm not sure if that is because the majority of people eat the food on the premises or because of the way a mall handles it's waste products as compared to a stand-alone franchise.

True
There's been many ppl who admitted they dropped food on the floor and picked it up and served it.
There's also been times it was admitted that they would spit on ppls food if the customer complained.
I know and knew many ppl who worked in the "Fast Food Industry", and that's why I make it a habit to stay away from fast food places.

Having worked in fast food I can tell you that, yes, there are some jack@sses out there, but for the most part things are kept pretty clean.

I will tell you that Marylands fast food restaurants are pretty darn good. I have a lot of friends over the years allthough Maryland is pretty competitive.

In my experience I have found that these types of things are actually true, but what can you do about it,,,nothing,,,,unless you prepare ALL that you eat YOURSELF! You have no way of knowing anything about what happened in the kitchen of any restaurant.
