Is this person a relative? It really depends what it is for - heart, arthritis, general pain?
A good person to ask is your local pharmicist.

Usually it's one or sometimes two enteric coated aspirin. Understand however, that even if your client is in fairly good health, the circulation and digestion can be very delicate in old people and that even if her digestion is okay right now, as aspirin is silicyic acid, it can serve to eat through the lining of the stomach with longterm use in some people. It can also interact negatively with other drugs commonly used in geriatric patients, and so this is a question that should ONLY be answered by your client's doctor. If she is on ANY ulcer med like Tagamet, or any blood thinner like Coumadin or Warfarin Sodium, she should NOT be taking aspirin without her doctor's knowledge and advice. Stomach bleeds and GI bleeds are a potentially deadly side effect of aspirin therapy in the elderly, and they can a) occur really rapidly, and kill the patient, b) be notoriously hard to stop and to get under control in the elderly (and usually necessitate surgery) and c) can be small, chronic and undetected and cause a host of other problems, like chronic anemia, until they become detected or become an emergency. Aspirin is a drug...It is NOT without side effects. Treat it as such.

Aspirin may be an OTC medicine but is not an alternative medicine. So, ask the doctor to suggest the correct dosage keeping in view all the other medicines being taken.

Most elderly people that I have cared for take a baby asprin daily. But depending on this particular individuals possible health issues, they should definitely consult their PCP to get a definitive answer.

No one should ever take more than 1 aspirin a day as too much aspirin can cause internal bleeding. Also, the blood thinning effect from too much aspirin can lead to a haemorrhagic stroke.

Furthermore, too much aspirin is also bad for your kidneys.

numerous it relies upon on the dimensions of the guy. because of the fact of this maximum training propose attempting to in elementary terms take one first, then taking yet another if the 1st one isn't working. it fairly is fairly sort of a judgement call.

low dose coated aspirin - I think it is 81 mg. Check with your doctor first to make sure she can tolerate aspirin.

It's recommended that she ask her doctor, as her age and weight don't play as much a part as her body chemistry, medical history, reason for taking it, etc.
