GOOF OFF is a great suggestion; and hopefully you realize you'll have to refinish the table top anyway. No offense to you at all; hopefully you got it cheap; but I wonder why ANYONE might do what has been done? I suspect damage already; being covered up; OR ........... nah I better not say what I'm thinking about anyone who might do that. Where do you live,,,LOL. Get my drift? :)

Certainly there are other solvents; and at this point you should probably expect some effort in a restoration. Peel and stick tile is so often backed with THIN adhesive, but solvents will cause it to be GUMMY perhaps and take more than one application of anything. GOOF OFF will damage any number of finishes anyway.

The term wood glue isn't very descriptive so which you have an array of suggestions. i might advise paint thinner or mineral spirits, those products artwork on maximum wood glues and could do the least harm. If the glue has hardened use a razor scraper as you could scrape maximum of it off with little harm. you could would desire to do some minor refinishing.

Goo Gone is a citrus based spray on that will remove most glue and stickiness. Buy at hardware or grocery store. Usually will not hurt the finish
