Oh, no, this fellow has dragged up another myth!

About once a month some person, innocently or otherwise, drags this up again on YA

During the Six Day War in 1967, the USS Liberty was sailing in Israeli territorial waters and was UNMARKED.

It refused to identify itself to the Israelis They considered that this ship might be a warship belonging to the armed forces of one to the countries at which it was at war. So, not knowing that this was an American ship, the Israelis attacked it. Right after the attack, the Liberty identified itself, but by then it was late. The Israelis offered all possible help in treating the injured, and they even compensated the families of those who were unfortunately killed and wounded.

This was a very sad story in the relations between the two allies, the United States and Israel.

But the attack was in error, the ship was not marked and refused to identify itself, and the Americans understood and accepted the Israeli apology and compensation.

To claim anything else is just to stir up animosity and to falsify the facts.

And that is a plot to cover up the dastardly terror being waged around the world by radical Islamic terror groups, like Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hisb'Allah, El Aqsa Brigades and Fatah.

Israel wasn't attacked in 1967. Israel began the militia action by bombing the Egyptian air stress mutually because it became on the floor. It have been given a great form of help from the U. S., militia help & money, even with the undeniable fact that no direct involvement by US forces different than whilst Israel sank the united statesLiberty. They have been given much extra help in 1973 whilst armies of Egypt and Syria attacked Israeli forces stationed on occupied territory of those 2 worldwide places. Israel in all probability might have won the 'sixty seven conflict in view that they were develop their militia and making plans the attack for years with out further help from the U. S.. although, the 'seventy 3 conflict ought to have long gone severely otherwise if th US hadn't injected a great form of intense militia help for the duration of the conflict.

The same way the US aircraft attacked two Australian Destroyers attached to a US flotilla off the Vietnamese Coast during the Second Indochina (Vietnam) War.

Friendly Fire ---

Only with the Australians, the two ships were part of a US FLOTILLA and clearly not "enemy".

Ever heard of 'friendly fire' guys?

The Americans have done it several times to us Brits, and do you see us claiming it was deliberate?

No, because it's just a terrible accident of war, and it happens more than anyone likes to admit.

And that's what the incident with the US Liberty was: friendly fire.

Logically, why would Israel initiate an attack on her biggest ally? It would be madness.

And to the person who insisted that there 'are Jews in high places' pulling strings... I thought that old rubbish died out with Hitler. Looks like I was wrong.

Conspiracy theories abound. One that attracts me is that President Johnson & the Isrealis had it worked out that this
attack would be blamed on the Eygptians in the instance that the U.S. might have to enter the war on behalf of the Isrealis. I've heard this from more than one independent source.
Of interest is the fact that the only Eygptian vessal in these waters was a horse carrying barge; hardly to be confused with a U.S. Navy fighting ship.
And It is true that the mission was aborted prematurely when a U.S. Commander did dispatch aircraft to the scene in the mistaken belief that he was defending American interests.
It seems that the backroom guys decide our interests which, in this case, included killing dozens of our own seamen for the sake of the interests of a foreign government which has many other such secrets in its closet.
Their power is enormous.
Shame.

Unfortunately too much power. There are a lot of Jews in high places in the US and in their government which is the main reason that Israel feel safe in attacking anyone or any country that dares upset them. While they have the backing of the US this will continue. I have never heard a single word from the US that criticizes Israel in any way what so ever even when a US ship is attacked by them.

This has nothing to do with some all-powerful clique of Jews in high places, as this incident surely fits the 'foul-up' rather than the 'conspiracy' theory of history.

Anyway, the Americans can hardly complain given the US military's unrivalled reputation for blowing up their allies' men and equipment in careless, over-enthusiastic shoot-first-think-later 'friendly fire' incidents.

Gung-ho? Oh, no !!!

Edit: I thought my point was quite reasonable, so I guess those thumbs-down must come from paranoid anti-semitic conspiracy nuts, or folk who just can't accept the US military's appalling reputation for friendly fire incidents. Too much 'Top Gun' bull**** me thinks...

They claimed it was an accident and the U.S. Government accepted their apology... it's hard to imagine how at least 3 strafing and bombing runs were an 'accident' but that is what it was called.

Israel exerts a TREMENDOUS amount of power on the U.S. Government because of all the wealthy Jews on the East Coast that donate millions of dollars to the AmeriKan politicians.
