you may be in the early part of labor. if the cramps are minor and there is no discharge dont worry yet. it can take several days or even a couple weeks for your body to be ready. if the cramps are more than slightly painful and / or there is any discharge at all then at the very least call your doctor and see what he/she thinks.

Our doctor seemed to be excited about cramping so i would say cramping is something that normally comes with pregnancy at this stage. We are two days over due as of today and i have been getting the cramping for over a week continuously now. Prior to this i got cramps every so often and especially when i walked around a lot. I would not worry, but call your doc just incase, he/she knows your body better then we do.
Just for the record, you ARE NOT 9 MONTHS AT 36 WKS!!!! 9 months is 40 wks. You are assuming there are only 4 wks in a month and there are not. You multiply by 4.33 not 4 to get the amount of wks in a month. If there were only 4 wks in a month there would not be 52 wks in a yr. Please please people stop saying you are pregnant for 10 months that is not how it works. Read any pregnancy book, take child birth classes get educated on things. 40 wks is the whole time you are pregnant, therefore 20 wks is half way being 4.5 months and 40 being 9 months. No month has only 4 wks, they all have 4 wks and 3 or 4 days, these days add up and make more wks.

I would call the Doctor right now and explain. I thought I was having stress incontinence (you know, you laugh and a bit of pee comes out), but what was really happening was I was leaking amniotic fluid for two days. I know this isn't your symptom, but I second guessed and ended up having an infection with a fever during and after delivery.

You'll know it's labor when the pains are equal in times apart -- like every 15 minutes, etc. Just keep track of timing when you are getting the pains. If they are "regular" then give the doctor a call. Remember, don't panic, MOST babies don't come as quick as you expect them to.

Not sure, but just because your cervix wasn't open two days ago doesn't mean it hasn't opened now. I would call the dr. and describe your symptoms, you could be starting labor. Don't wait, call right away- you don't want to have the baby on the way to the hospital!
Good luck!!

I don't know what it could be; I didn't have this when I was pregnant. If you are concerned contact your doctor or go to the emergency room. It could be the start of contractions, but I can't say for sure. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I had steady to contractions for 2 days with my daughter and they eventually stopped entirely. When i called my midwife she said if they were anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes apart to go to the hospital otherwise just wait it out and see what happens. good luck!

I would call your OBGYN or midwife and just ask them. I had cramps kind of like that but it was just the baby settling in my pelvis.
