Do you EVER turn your computer off? If you do, EVERYTHING that is still there when you turn it back on is on the hard drive. Much of what you think is in active memory is actually on the hard drive as well. In short, if it is not on the hard drive, it is most likely not on the computer.

Everything you do on the computer, and all your computer's software, is save/stored on the hard drive.

from the boot up screen to warcraft 3 to anything. all the programs and things you see on ur computer takes up space. just like how your brain stores things. thats why..u dont store or memorize uselss things in your mind...such as....i dont know...how many leg hair u have.?
