Take candid pictures of each of them doing things they love. If mom likes gardening get a picture of that. If dad likes cooking, snap that.

Then, once you've developed the pictures, scan and enlarge them to be about five by seven inches. Mount them onto colored construction paper and put the whole thing in an inexpensive unfinished wood frame from the craft store. You could paint the frame before putting the pictures in, or just leave it natural, to unify the two pictures.

Label the gift, "May this holiday and the coming year bring you more moments to do the things you love." Or something like that...

Obviously we could answer this question (better) if we knew
something about your parents and their interests.

When I was newly married and my kids were toddlers. I gave
(each set of parents) a framed family photo. (Of myself, husband, and kids).

I would also suggest a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant ... or to a restaurant that you want them to try.

You still have a couple of months to save up for whatever
you decide on.

Picture Frame(s), A set of Towels, .... Is there a favorite or
special recipe in your family??? You could have that laminated and framed. ...... Start being creative..... My husband likes golf .... You probably can't afford the golf clubs.. but golf balls are reasonably priced.

If they are retired .... Do you think that they would like
dancing lessons .... Or a creative writing class??? (Again
you still have time to save up for something!)

Hope this helps!

the basic fact is: your Parents don't really expect you to get them something. but we like to give them presents coz they always give us things. and we want to show we love them.

it doesn't have to be expensive at all. if you're creative, make them something they can both use or make individual presents.

if not very artzi, get a big photo frame that holds something like 10 pics. there're some really nice ones around for about $25-$50. Start with ur baby photo, a baby photo with them, then go up until whatever age u are now, make sure u include photos of them with u as well. wrap it nicely.

P.S if u have siblings, put photos of them as well. it shows that u're thinking of every one.

Make gift certificates that they can trade for services around the house. Doing the dishes, cutting the grass, mopping the floor, cleaning the attic. You get the idea, be creative.

Something that they will like a lot, a picture of you and them in a nice frame, cards, some hand made presents like santa clauses etc. Something that will show your love and careness. good luck!

How can we answer that when we don't know them? A lot of people appreciate something you make more than something you buy. Are you artistic? Can you cook/bake? Are you a musician/singer?
