I love the red and green apples. They are called Gala apples, I think.

Gala are great apples, but so are Fuji apples, if you happen to find any fuji apples where you are, try one. I think you'll like them as much as gala apples.

Color or flavor variety? I like the look of red Jonathan apples, but they are not my favorite to eat. I like the taste of sweet golden delicious apples (not tart granny smith) or Fugi red apples. Galas are good too.

I love the Gala apples from Australia. They are kinda streaky with red, yellow and white.

To eat--Winesaps (a mostly red apple) For pie and sauce--Rome Beauties (redder than Winesaps) For cider--mixture of all (we had seven kinds of apple trees on the farm where I grew up) Some times I like to eat Granny Smiths. I don't like Delicious (red or yellow) as the are rather mealy and mushy in texture. I like apples that are quite crisp. ;-))
