Does Shaughnaussey sound like a girl's name or a boy's?

I read this somewhere is it a Boy's or a Girl's? Is there any other spellings?

That sounds like a really bad name is what it sounds like. Try shortening it to something like Shaun for a boy, or Shawna for a girl. Aleghny (A-Le-nee) for a girl would be cute too. All of those would be fine, but not whatever the heck you put. As a last name, or pet name would be only things that would work for that.

The ussey at the end kinda makes it a girish name. New parents think about your child growing up and going to kindergarten, then trying to spell their name.......Don't make it impossible for them.....Try to break Shaunaussey down a little. Shawnasy, or just Shawna...............

It can be either.
I happen to know a Brian, his last name is Shaughnessey (pronounced shaw na see).
First name, Last name it does not matter. If you like the name and want to use it as your child's name, then use it. It is your child and your choice. Good Luck.
