A meager salary means that you had best be looking for something else soon. Why settle for a low pay when, with a little schooling, you can have a living wage. There are many schools which can prepare you, quickly, for a good job. get busy, and good luck.

I think that people need to learn to live within their means. I don't have credit cards or an overdraft and can't go overdrawn in the bank. So if I haven't earned it I cant spend it. The question is how much week is there left at the end of the money.

No I do alot of overtime, and you reach a certain level in the tax bracket, and they string you up high for it.
Last month I worked like a Donkey, and £692 was taken out in Tax and National Insurance

Gosh no. I am usually left with less than 100 disposable cash by the time payday comes around. I have no savings either. Luckily, the only debt I have is student loans and my car.

Always, but the funny thing is this: even with a pay-rise, I won't have a surplus as I always accomodate any extra cash, and if I don't my wife WILL!
