i have sat with my legs crossed probably starting when i was around seven now i am fourty. i cross them every time i sit down, eventually after a long priod of crossing my top leg gets numb. i have heard that crossing your legs can cause vein problems, back problems, and hip problems, i dont have any at all, but is this true that it is bad? do you cross your legs also? and are you aware it might be bad?

Yes crossing your legs is bad, it slows down circulation. I started crossing my legs when I was 14, I'm not 21 and I have a really big verocous vein on my right calf that will never go away.

I have heard that this is true, but when I looked on Web MD I found nothing (which still doesn't mean that it's not true!). I cross my legs and I have hip problems, but I was born with a deformed hip so I don't think crossing would have any influence on it. Sometimes it actually feels really good to cross my legs because it stretches the right area out. But I could definitely see it being "bad". Hope that helps!

When I sit down and cross my legs for while. The blood circulation your legs poorly. It's not that bad. Does not affect back problem. If you sit up right. It will support your back without damage.

yeah that happens when you keep your leg crossed it becomes numb and then it feels later like pin needles.
i dont think you get back problems with that, sometimes crossing the leg makes the blood doesnt get thru to the leg and it may cause varicose veins

It is true, and that's why I stopped doing it. The pressure inhibits blood flow, so you can get spired veins or even varicose veins.
