I'd add that the clients human rights are being disregarded in order to convenience the staff - and when that kind of thing starts - who can say where it will stop?

Have you read about the controlling of of old people in care with the drugs in the news lately?

From your posted sample answer - the following not clear :

1/what 'level' is the homework based at (Key stage, GCSE and so on).
2/ what is the target of the homework .. what does the teacher want from you.

I would certainly give samples of diet requirements and explain them in sample by sample- For example

Medical- some people cannot eat certain foods eg. Gluten intolerance (wheat starch based food) Give a pensioner wheat based pasta in this case and you'll be wheeling them out in a coffin!
Religion- A home that fed Jews or Muslims pork would cause problems for the home as not only would there be a case of Human Rights abuse - this could be pressed home by a law suit backed by an entire faith.
(and of course personal ethical choice - which you site : vegetarians) If you have further info re 1/ and2/ above re-post your question I should catch it later

Assuptions again in this one assuming they are confused have they actually been asked? A good home will have a care plan and that care plan will have dietry requirements of their clients vegetarian, low fat, likes and dislikes ect.
They are not being looked after properly because if a client can eat minced beef thinking it was s0ya where were the staff to prevent this? So no supervision for a start.
They do not get a choice of meals it is eat it or knothing if you do not like it.
They are left to get it themselves.

Patient advocates who can assess the rights and needs of those patients lacking the cognitive ability to make their own choices should be regular staff members monitoring the well being of their clients
