I was sent a violation notice for posting the following question: "I am sorry if I am late, if you know what I mean?"
If someone didn't like my non-offensive question, why didn't they just skip it? Why did they post a "rude" answer and then report me? Was it because that person was a psychotic Socio-path?
Here is my follow-up question to you: What would you suggest I add to my following appeal to Yahoo "Customer Care"?
Subject Question: "I am sorry if I am late", do you know what I mean?"
Sometimes we are late showing up for something, and sometimes we are late showing compassion for other people. This question was quite clear to most of the people who answered my question. In this case. "If you know what I mean" is an ideomatic expression that asks the question "Have you ever been late and felt sorry about it?

That one person, with multiple accounts, who reported me, actually violated the Community Guidelines by not answering the question, or even attempting to do anything but criticise the "asker". That one person, with multiple accounts, was "rude" and "offensive"; If that person didn't like the question, why didn't he simply skip the question?

There is a growing group of concerned members of Yahoo who are becoming offended by the way Yahoo has allowed certain people to violate the Constitution of the United States and the the Constitution of the United Nations (by not allowing every human the right to face their accuser). And, that group is planning to stage a boycott of your sponsors unless you stop allowing "annonymous" hateful people from reporting questions they don't happen to understand.

after being married for close to 40 years, i have learned one thing, never, and I repeat NEVER, be late, and if you are never admit it.
I think your appeal is a very good one,
after getting 5 violations in one day I appealed every one of them, and only got one reply.
the reply stated that they reserve the right to delete any questions,
their new report system actually encourages users to report, to enhance their standing with the community.
because of this, even when it seemingly has no effect, we need to appeal every violation, and flood them with appeals.
and if we get no response, write and ask them why there was no response to the appeal.
I also stated in my letter that if they continued to delete the serious users, all they would be left with is the TROLLS.

I agree totally.
Can you report him back or all their accounts back to yahoo and show it was the same persona and ask them to trace the IP so they can tell it was the same PC used just different names?
I dealt with this once too in a different section and that is what i did, i had yahoo trace their IP address for several account and that person lost like +40 accounts they had!!
Can you beleive that!! 40+ accounts they had! Crazy.
yes you are so correct, people like that need to be removed from Y!A for they can dominate a category or quetion with all those accounts and trick Yahoo staff, yahoo needs more help in weeding these people out.
I know they are aware of the problem but I do not think they would have fathomed some one so desperate to be right would make so many accounts to prove it.
it is ludicrous to do that. YES I have two accounts, but I only use one for this. the other is strictly for seperate use and has never been used in Y!A before. 40+ accounts! that is nuts and they still did not kick him off, only removed the other accounts and allowed him to keep his winning votes for he is in the top ten in this category and i proved that nearly all his winnings were by vote or chosen by an account he had set up. It was horrible the dishonesty.
it appears to happen in other categories too now. that is such a shame to hear!!
you never should have been removed for that, and i know if you fight it and prove you did nothing wrong the next time he reports someone his report will be looked on as less valuable. The more you report and it is not real it hurts your account for false reports. SO it is vital you contest it!
GOOD LUCK let me know how it goes!

Sorry (((Uncle))). It is getting outrageous on this board. I don't know about other boards. I got a violation notice over an entirely legitimate question that was well within the guidelines. Anytime I've ever taken it up with CC they NEVER respond. You think it was CBG? It wouldn't surprise me. I've even gotten violation notices over answers that were inoffensive but went against the beliefs of another person. I don't report people and I definitely don't like being reported.

My Most Recent: Deleted question: One of the most devastating questions for atheists.lets see if you can answer it? Question Details: Why do cords, wires, ropes etc. tangle themselves up so efficiently? Violation Reason: Community Guidelines and/or Terms Of Service Violation Sheesh......... it was just a fun, but I even lost an appeal. My personal opinion is that Y!A is doing a poor job at maintaining the R & S section, most importantly because it can't contain Report Monkeys. But over the whole of Y!A, its doing a good job. Violations are necessary, but most of them are inaccurate.

Don't be too sure that the person you speak of was responsible. Yahoo themselves appear to scan the incoming questions, and deleting those that strike them as off-topic etc.
The whole violation mechanism is out of control, and a disgusting censorship of free speech.
The one thing you can do, apparently, is appeal the violation. That way, the person responsible may be marked as an unreliable abuse reporter. Push back against the craziness.

I have been off the forum and missed that, if you know what I mean. I determined to try to catch up with my contacts questions today, if you know what I mean. Now I feel my eagle talons getting itchy to grab unto such a pesky little rodent, such as you have described, if you know what I mean, and keep writing down the sponsors that grace my Yahoo page, you know the ones I mean. They are the ones that could be so easily manipulated by perfectly legitimate questions, if you know what I mean.

There are some people on here who really need to get a hobby. I don't see how the person could have seen it as a good or beneficial thing to report something like that.

I sympathize with you because I have been violated just for saying "Thanks for two points." That was my way of saying I totally disrespected the posting.
I believe the Constitutional right to facing your accuser relates to criminal law, not civil law.
Cheers

Maybe that one person is you? Maybe you are like the Green Goblin, with a mean and evil alter ego waiting to take over your entire life. Maybe the alter ego is planting these evil little easter eggs in your life as a way to supplant your reality with "his" reality (which is still your reality).
In any case, just relax and let things happen. It is, after all, just Yahoo Answers.
